Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Brooke, and when my daughter Ella was born with a facial port-wine stain, I was overwhelmed.

Like many parents, I had countless questions, very few answers, and no clear direction. I spent hours searching for reliable information, trying to find the right specialists, understand treatment options, and learn how to help my daughter grow up confident in a world that often notices difference before anything else.

What I discovered was a significant gap in support for Australian families navigating visible differences.

That's why I created Facing Forward Australia.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that no family has to navigate this journey alone.

Facing Forward Australia provides evidence-informed resources, practical guidance, educational tools, and a supportive community for families of children with visible differences, disabilities, medical conditions, and neurodiversity. We also work to educate schools, healthcare professionals, and the wider community, helping to build understanding, inclusion, and confidence from an early age.

As a Registered Nurse and medical student, I combine professional knowledge with lived experience as a parent. Every resource has been created with compassion, practicality, and the understanding that every family's journey is unique.

Whether you're a parent searching for answers after a new diagnosis, a teacher wanting to support a student, or a healthcare professional looking for family-friendly resources, you're welcome here.

This is only the beginning.

Together, we can build an Australia where every child feels seen, included, and proud of who they are.

Welcome to Facing Forward Australia.
